Backyardigans!

On the 18th I am taking Constance to see the Backyardigans. I know Ivy will not sit through it at all, so she is going to spend the afternoon with grandma. Rachel is going with us, so it should be a really fun time all around. I told Constance we were going and she said that she is going to give them hugs and kisses! She is very excited.

Ok just warning everyone this will be a long blog. I have several different things to write about today, so just bear with me! Ok we will start with our trip to Blue Springs. We were there for a little over a week. We had a family reunion on Saturday. It was very hot! Then sunday we all went to breakfast at Golden Corral. Monday my dad, the girls and I went to lunch at Applebees, then I had to go to Hobby Lobby, and after that we went over to the new Bass Pro in Independence. Tuesday and Wednesday we didnt do much, just stayed home. Thursday I went to see Amys grandma. It had been along time since I had seen her so I was glad to get the chance. I saw her mom earlier in the week. Friday we went to Union Station and took the girls to Science City. They had alot of fun there. After that we came home. I was glad to get home.

All in all it was a good trip.

Today I got Constance the last of her school clothes. She modeled them for us. She looks like such a big girl! I cant believe we are shopping in the big girl section now. They have alot cuter clothes there than in the baby section I think.

After lunch today my mom, the girls and I hopped in the car. There is a group called Run for the Fallen. They are running across america and placing a card and flag on a pole or in the ground for each of the first 4000 servicemen who have died in this war. I think what they are doing is awsome. We got pictures of about 8 of them I think. It was so cool, but very emotional so afterwards I thought we needed to stop at Dairy Queen for a pick-me-up! It was neat to think that each mile we drove, and they ran, was a mile in honor of that soldier. Im glad we got the chance to see some of them, although I could have kept going all day. Gas prices, and my children would not have allowed that though!

Above are pictures from everything!

Anyways, we are back from Blue Springs now. I have pics from that to put up too. In fact I will have several blogs up today. Lots of stuff to say! lol It is very nice to be home. We had a good visit, but I was getting a little homesick. I will blog about that later though!

pics, potty training, and Daddy in a tree!

Here are some recent pictures that David sent to me. He called a couple of days ago, but I dont know when he will get to call next. Could be up to a month. No one knows for sure.
I have started to potty train miss Ivy. She has been showing signs that she is ready. I wasnt going to start with her yet, but she seems to want to do it. She wants to sit on the potty all the time and she comes and tells me when she needs to be changed. So today we went to Walmart and she picked out some Dora panties. She has been wearing them all day except for naptime. I have been putting her on the potty periodically. No success yet, but these things take time. She did sneak in the bathroom earlier and peed right next to the toilet. So Im hoping that is a sign that she is getting the general idea.
Today Constance has been saying over and over "Daddy is stuck in a tree, and I need to go find him!" Im not sure what to make of this. Is it just her imagination running wild, or is he really stuck in a tree somewhere?? lol Im hoping its just her imagination, or maybe she had a dream about it. Who knows!

This week the girls and I went to Bible Camp. We had lots of fun. I volunteered with the pre-campers. They were ages infant-4. So both of the girls were with me. We had about 14 others to watch after too!! They were a handful! It was alot of fun though and we got to sing songs and read bible stories. They also played in the creek one day. Here are some pics of the kids we took care of.

Kristen and Derrick drove over on thier four wheelers for a few minutes and Constance got to drive one. Tonight we are going over to my aunt and uncles house to do more fireworks and have a bbq. Hopefully Ivy will get to enjoy it tonight and not be asleep!

All ready to go in with her "daddy bear"

We are back from Constances surgery today. It all went very well. We got there around 7 this morning. Then we sat in the room for about an hour and a half. After that it was time for surgery. The brought in a wagon for her to ride into the surgery room. She had her "daddy bear" with her too. After we got into the room I put her on the table and they let her play with some of the stuff they had in there for a min. Then they had her "smell" the gas mask. They told me to hold her hands cause she would go through a wiggly stage. I wasnt prepared for that one! She started having these convulsions. I was about to lose it. Then she just fell asleep all of the sudden. I think the dr could see I was freakin a little cause he grabbed my arm and said " Ill take good care of her for you!" That helped a little. I hated leaving her in that room though. About 10 minutes later I went back to recovery with her and she was already awake. All the nurses were around her bed telling her how pretty she is! lol She got sick once in recovery and then one more time all over grandma when she was back in her room. After that she seemed to be doing alot better so they let us go home. She got sick once in the car, but seems to be feeling just fine now. I just had her saying her "L" sound for the very first time! And she can stick her tongue out really far now!!! That is exciting for me to see. Im just glad all this is over with, so now she can start pronouncing things alot better.
The pics are a little out of order. I wasnt paying attention!
